چکیده

This study evaluated the effects of remaining dentin thickness (RDT), different smear layers, and aging on microtensile bond strength (µTBS) universal adhesives to when applied in self-etch mode. Ninety-six human third molars were randomly allocated 12 groups (n=8) based adhesives: ClearfilTM SE Bond 2 (SE, control), Universal (CU) ScotchBondTM Adhesive (SB); layers: prepared either with 600-grit SiC paper (P) or regular diamond bur (B); aging: stored distilled water at 37ºC for 24 hours (24h) 1 year (1y). µTBS was significantly affected by type adhesives, (p<0.001). A statistically significant positive linear relationship also observed between RDT (p<0.05) all tested groups, except SEB1y CUB24h (p>0.05). RDT, layer types, can influence bonding performances

Effect of Cleansing Solutions on the Bond Strengths of Self-Etch Adhesives to Saliva-Contaminated Dentin

This study determined the effect of cleansing solutions on microtensile bond strengths of self-etch adhesives to saliva-contaminated dentin. Seventy five human molars were ground flat to expose mid-depth dentin, and randomly assigned to 5 groups (n=15): no contamination, saliva contamination without cleansing, saliva and cleansing with water, saliva and cleansing with 2% chlorhexidine, and sali...

Effect of thermal cycling on bond strengths of single-step self-etch adhesives to bovine dentin.

The purpose of this study was to clarify the effect of thermal cycling on dentin bond strengths of single-step self-etch adhesives. Five commercially available single-step self-etch systems were used. The adhesives were applied to the dentin surfaces of bovine incisors, and then light-irradiated. Resin composites were condensed into a mold and light-irradiated. Bonded specimens were divided int...

Effect of long-term water aging on microtensile bond strength of self-etch adhesives to dentin.

PURPOSE To evaluate the effect of water storage on the microtensile dentin bond strength of one total-etch and four self-etching adhesives to dentin. METHODS The adhesive materials were: one total-etch adhesive (Admira Bond) and four self-etch adhesives (Clearfil S tri Bond, Hybrid Bond, Futurabond NR, Adhe SE). Freshly extracted human third molar teeth were used. For each tooth, dentin was e...

Effects of endodontic tri-antibiotic paste on bond strengths of dentin adhesives to coronal dentin

OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of tri-antibiotic paste (TAP) on microtensile bond strengths (MTBS) of dental adhesives to dentin. MATERIALS AND METHODS Sixty extracted molars had their occlusal surfaces flattened to expose dentin. They were divided into two groups, i.e., control group with no dentin treatment and experimental group with dentin treatment with TAP....

Effects of blood contamination on microtensile bond strength to dentin of three self-etch adhesives.

This study evaluated the effects of blood contamination and decontamination methods during different steps of bonding procedures on the microtensile bond strength of two-step self-etch adhesives to dentin. Sixty extracted human molars were ground flat to expose occlusal dentin. The 60 molars were randomly assigned to three groups, each treated with a different two-step self-etch adhesive: Clear...
